Myronas Stratis

During the past days I´ve been making my return back to the blogging-world, if I could say so. Last year you, my dear follower, found daily 4-6 new posts. Now I´m promising you 1-2 new posts. 

Greece is in the news once again, thanks to the forthcoming elections and not getting into that. Still this motivated me to find something nice from Greece, which I haven´t done before.

Myronas Stratis aka Myron Stratis was born in Athens 1982. He studied both piano and guitar and that took him to various groups. He took part in Thessaloniki Songfestival and got 3rd place in 2006. He has released 3 albums what I do know of. You might like to visit his facebook / twitter 

He released his newest song/video in December 2014 " de ftanei i agapi " (love is not enough), which is chosen for you.

 

The beginning was dramatic and powerful and his voice soft, which was the perfect match selling the story we all know too well... sometimes love is just not enough. Without saying I like this song a lot.

Afghanistan Aryana Sayeed

And we are back  and so is superb star from Afghanistan aswell.

This song is dedicated for the women of Afghanistan.

I find this artist very talented and this song has such an powerful message to all of us. World we live in isn´t perfect, but we could maybe change it for bit better starting from you, one person at the time.

Break

This blog has been unfortunately on break for the past week or two. This is due of chrisis in family. Family comes always first.

I suppose that in July 1st it´s business as usual. Thank you for understanding.

Indonesia : Nidji

Nidji is alternative popmusic band from Jakarta. Nidji´s name come from japanese word niji= rainbow. Band was founded 2002 and has released 7 albums.

This is amazingly beautiful song. Melodic rock and the vocals are simply touching my very critical heart. Catchy song and I keep on wondering of the high quality which comes when band has been together creating their sound over an decade. Well done indeed. I am eagerly looking forward for more from this group :)

Indonesia : Dadali

Dadali is indonesian popgroup, which was founded in 2009. 6 members and they have released 5 albums since 2011.

I have today listened this song several times as today especially this kind of melodic popsong is what I love most. I feel the passion and Dyrga (leadsinger) delivers that with such perfection. Great song,great group :)

Greece : Panagiotis Tsafaras

Panagiotis Tsafaras is new artist and just 21. He is fresh face and voice in greek musiclife.

I was at first attracted to this simple melody and this very cut-down video, which focus to the basics;music. He has good voice and charisma which comes thru even in this video. Elements that every artists needs. Song is perhaps simple and perhaps we have heard similars before, but in this song everything clicks and works. Interesting artist no doubt for that :)

Ukraine : Taruta

Taruta band´s genre is worldmusic. This ethnic sound including singing and used instruments are facinating. Quality speaks out for itself as you will find from this video.

Sounds are very interesting bringing the visual look in front of our eyes. I love this a lot and sure for me it´s familiar too due of this slavic heritage we have. Great song,video bravo :)

This song is quite interesting popsong. The heritage can be heard clearly and she has such an interesting voice and talent that this song has almost like magic in it. 

Belarus : Julija Glebova

Julija Glebova is singer-songwriter,poet and musician from Minsk.
She released her debut album 2012 and 2nd album is under preparation.

Her video is visual and I like this belarussian language, which sounds so great. Her voice is strong and she has what it takes to lift the melodic song even further. Love it :)

LLoyd shows new side of his music and this is more mainstream pop including dancesteps. This is good but I am not totally sure if his superb voice comes out as it in my opinion should. Still this is great popsong and Lloyd is amazing,don´t get me wrong :)

Norway : Adelén

Adelén Rusillo Steen aka Adelén was born 1996 Tonsberg. She took part in Norwegian national selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2013 and came 2nd with the song "bombo", which did rise to several european charts.

She is the name for today as her song "olé" was taken on the official cd-album for the FIFA 2014 games which starts today.

Adelén is very amazing artist and received a lot when she is still just 17. Songs are catchy and such an honour to be part of such collection which opens doors all around the world. I like it do you?

Ethiopia : Mulugeta Lema

Unfortunately I couldn´t find a thing which could have been linked with this artist. Research did find a lot, but I am not the slightest sure that all of that is one and same person, so all you get is his name and the video. Sorry.
If someone of you knows more - let me know, so this can be updated.

 

This is such an catchy song. The ethiopian amharic culture shows in this too. In rhythm/sounds it goes along with the modern style and this fusion is amazing. I can´t get enough of this song and after the 4th listening now I might click play it again :) Artist is talented and has beautiful voice

Croatia : Navarro

Navarro band was founded in 2011. They started as duo and soon more members were joining. Creating music in garage is how so many indie-bands start and so did Navarro too.

2012 they recorded their 1st demo "prelude" and won 1st place in local debut bands forum. That lead to the recording contract and finally 1st commercial single was released.

This video is dark if not even strange, but this is made with the thought. Still nowadays everything happens and this can be someone´s reality. 
Musically Navarro is interesting
visually Navarro is far from something that I will follow. Bt Wom shows videos/songs which you should see and which might raise an discussion. So what do you think?

Uzbekistan : Sh1ller

Sean Salokhiddinov aka Sh1ller was born in Samarkand 1990. He debuted 2002. He has released  "sacrifice" ft. Tone
"Life ain't easy" ft. Fury & Othello "Bu yurak" "American Uzbek Rap" ft. UKStunnaz "New York, Tashkent, Samarkand" ft. Ja-Ron.His family moved to USA.

Sh1ller is still found interesting artist. Rap-hip hop in bilingual version with pretty modern beat. That is unique and interesting enough. This interesting language I can´t get enough and how well it fits together with english and rap. The sounds are cool and should easily find to the playlists also elsewhere. You should visit his site and listen to the other songs aswell and you will be very interested. What do you think?

I often admire record companies and artists to focus on the videos as those remain. Great story and so well drawn. Superb Shahzoda and the artistic team behind this video WOW.

Italy : Renzo Rubino

Oronzo Rubino aka Renzo Rubino was born in Taranto 1988. He is singer-songwriter. He debuted in 2008, was singer in a band before going solo again. He has done 3 tours, released 3 albums.

San Remo festival. He took part twice so far. 2013 in giovani serie /young artists with the song "il postino (amami uomo)" which he wrote himself and got 3rd place.


2014 he did take part in artists serie with two songs he wrote himself. Jury/audience voted to final the song "ora" which came 3rd.


Recently he did release new video from his new album "sottovuoto"

Renzo is interesting artists. These three songs have all different styles and brings clearly out his talents.
2013 SR wasn´t perhaps fully in my taste, but it was demanding for sure and in style what SR songs needs to be to get attention.
2014 SR was far more melodic and somehow I got thoughts from Matia Bazar an old italian popgroup due of the style, but well done indeed.
Sottovuoto  was in my opinion the best of these three. Very melodic song and I adore how he is playful with the melody which is strong. Amazing popsong from very talented artist. Great video :) WOW :)

Usa / Greece

Courtney Parker was born in Oklahoma city 1985. She is singer-dancer who now lives in Athens,Greece. Before moving to Greece she studied and teached dancing. Created choreografias for various artists before becoming one of the Pussycat dolls. In Greece she has released 3 singles with artists like Helena Paparizou and toured working with big names of greek music.

Wow. Courtney can sing and have such an strong voice which is needed in this dramatic powerballade. How I love this style of songs, when artist can deliver the needed passion. Wow.

Interesting song. Melody is strong enough and video cool enough to follow untill it hits. Every popsong doesn´t need to be mainstream it can have hints here and there like this one and artist, that has the charisma to keep all this working. :)
