New Zealand / Cook Islands: Seasiders

The next stop of this journey is in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

The Cook Islands, is a island country in the South Pacific Ocean in free association with New Zealand.

With around 20,000 habitants we cannot expect a wide musical industry, however, there are some bands that worth a look on them.

The Seasiders is a 4 piece band, with a unique style with Sounds of Tongarevea (Penrhyn).

The band was formed in 2012, and in their own words "their harmonies are pure magic, and this humble quartet are thrilled to showcase their talents"

Welcome to World of Musicvideos, Seasiders and Cook Islands!

New Zealand: Jackie Thomas

One of the biggest surprises of 2013, was to hear for first time the very talented Jackie Thomas and her excelent track It's worthy.

I use to take part on Internet Based song contest, and suddenly New Zealand became popular in most of them, thanks to this song. In my opinion one of the best 5 songs released in the world during 2013.

Jackie I ask desperatly your record company, to push you to became a World Star, you cannot be kept like the hidden gem of New Zealand, NO ... I want Chicago, Paris, Mexico City, Moscow, Sydney, Shanghai, Capetown, Barcelona know you and fall in love with you.

Your music is totally worth it and I cannot wait for "Where I belong".

Jackie was born in 1990 in Greymouth. She won the first New Zealand series of The X Factor in 2013. "It's worthy" was released in July 2013, and in just 3 weeks it was certified Platinum

In November 2013, Thomas opened for Olly Murs at his New Zealand show, and in late 2013 she performed at the Christmas in the Park events in Auckland and Christchurch.

New Zealand : Benny Tipene

New Zealand and what comes to mind. For me it means the Kiri Te Kanawa. This superb diva of opera-stages. No need to ask, if I have her cds :)

From New Zealand we get lots of kiwis, but not that often popsensation. Now we have in our charts everywhere Lorde and that´s why I am not covering about her.

From charts I find from 1st place Benjamin Tipene, born 1990 in Auckland. He uses Benny Tipene as the artistname, which is clever in my opinion :) He took part in X-factor 2013 and came 3rd. Is singer, musician and quitarist. Styles more indie, pop if not even folk. Released 1st album "toulouse" which is now 4th while the single "make you mine" is nr1 and that´s what you´ll see. He doesn´t have a website yet.

This is very happy tune and catchy. All I would change is the ending, but over all this is nice popsong, honest one without any tricks or effects. Less is sometimes more and it works in my opinion :)
