2014 EUROPE DAY 20/28 SPAIN

Yesterday 9th of May was inside European Union held the Europe Day,which is celebration for unity and peace in short. #EUopendoors

I thought it could be suitable for creating an special edition in this blog also and naturally it means lots of work for me, but this is so much fun :)

In couple of weeks we have the EU elections so remember to use your right to vote!

EUROPE DAY 20/28  SPAIN

Barei is from Madrid and currently rising in spanish charts at place 36. Her website / facebook might interest you. Unfortunately there is quite limited information in style I have used to shared. I decided to go along with it as the video is unique, her voice is amazingly strong and after I did contact her for more detailed information, so this could be updated later on.

This song is very beautiful and her voice strong. The arrangements also pleases the ear just as her clear voice. I like it

Spain: Antonio Orozco

Antonio was born in Barcelona, Spain in 1972.

He took part in The Voice, along with other spanier pop stars like Malu, David Bisbal and Rosario.

With his last record released at the end of 2013, he reached Gold in only 24 hours and platinum in 2 weeks.

If you like ballads, I strongly recomend you a back to the past with Antonio listening "Devuélveme la vida", now let's enjoy one of the hits of his most recent album .... Temblando (Trembling).

I hope Antonio that you soon are taken to Latinamerica, you are much better than many spanier singers that have come to America and gained the "Super Star" status, you have all the potential here in Mexico and the rest of the Latin countries.

Spain: Anabel Conde

It´s taken amazingly long time before Anabel Conde returned to studios. I have personally waited almost an decade for this .... still I am bit wondering howcome Europe couldn´t let her win with the superb song "vuelve conmigo". She came 2nd and it´s still Spain´s best placing since their victory 1969.

Anabel Conde, born 1975 in Fuengirola. After the Eurovision came surprisingly problems with the recording company as the recordcompany was shut down and Anabel was forced to have a break. I as a fan of hers was sad over that as she had million dollars possibility for an superb career internationally and then it just didn´t happen. So sad.

Luckily she was taking part later in Eurovision as backing singer 2005 ( Andorra) and took part in Spanish finals 2010 "ni colores, ni fronteras" placing 4th  and tried even to Poland. She has released 3 albums and the latest "mujer" /woman  has been released this year. The single/video "paraiso" is selected for you You can visit her blog

Spain : David Bisbal & Belgium : Maarten Cox

Spain ... where to start. I have visited several times and fell for the cuicine, music and lifestyle. I could even reveal, that my first destination with airplane was Spain, Costa del Sol in 1985. One of the motivation were the fabulous Paloma San Basilio who sang for Spain that year in Eurovision Song Contest with the song " la fiesta termino". It still is quite an mystery why it got so little points from everywhere, but I am pleased how her career didn´t suffer from that one bit. And do I add her song here after all this text, no I don´t :) You must visit youtube :)

David Bisbal, born 1979, took part in Operacion Triunfo in 2002 and came 2nd in the end. This was marvellous serie, which brought dozens of artists to the spanish and latin musicworld. David Bisbal is simply put amazing and an real megastar sold over 5 million albums and received more than 60 golden and platinarecords. 10th album is just released and I chose the number one from spanish charts to this blog "diez mil maneras"  ten thousand ways.
I have several his albums,not live-albums as I fancy more studio. http://www.davidbisbal.com/

Belgium, small country with so many languages and differences. I have been there few times and each time I do discover something new. Sure I have own evergreens, where I return every time such city is Brügge. Belgium is known for it´s chocolate, lace and yeah homebase for European Union. One victory from Eurovision Song Contest, 1986 by Sandra Kim.

After a hard listening I came back to the easy way out from my dilemma of what to choose. This song " vrij" free  is nr1 in flemish charts. Maarten Cox,born 1985 on same day actually as I am March 30th :)  He took part in Idools 2004 and came 6th. He started singing in childrenschoir De Piccolo´s since he was 8 years old. He´s also tvhost in TV Limburg. More you can find out from his website http://www.maartencox.be/

Eurovision covers : 2012 & 2013 winners

Eurovision Song Contest is something which has been running from 1956. This either makes you happy or makes you mad, unfortunately there is nothing in between. Each country that takes part selects in their way their entry and hopes to win the whole contest. Believe me, there has been some good, some beautiful, some ugly and some absolutely odd entries. And still there is fans for each of the songs and decades later even more. The magic formula has changed many times during the those 60 years and from time to time once per week I try to open the curtains and let 2 or 3 videos with some text to back it up. Most of you are professionals, but there is many readers whom Eurovision is something new and interesting.

Sweden sent to Baku Azerbaijan wonderful artist Loreen. Song was before the contest rising or dominating the top of the charts around Europe and it was clear before the contest whom is going to win. Still without any doubt the song was superb and artist great without speaking of the choreography.
Earlier today I found an excellent cover of the winning song EUPHORIA now titled as EUFORIA and performed by Miquel and Alejandro from Mexico.  I have now listened the version couple of times and it´s difficult to decide if this version is even better than original.

Denmark sent to Sweden last year wonderful Emmelie de Forest with celtic flutes, drums and catchy melody. For me it was clearly the winner in very early stage... after Danish finals to be honest, when most of the songs weren´t selected. I felt that this has it and so it did. This version is done by an amateur, but this guy has lots of potentials to break it. Indigo is from Sevilla,Spain and from his website www.indigo-music.com  you can find more links.

Azerbaijan did select the song Drip Drop for 2010 contest and thought it would win the whole contest. For me the song was weak, but after hearing the version of Lena Valaitis I must change my opinion. It was as simple as this, right song and right artist must match otherwise it won´t work.  Lena Valaitis originally from Lithuania took part for Germany and came 2nd with Johnny Blue in 1981.
