Senegal : Youssou N´Dour

This time it´s the real megastar of africa and man who put the Senegal to the map.
Youssou N´Dour, born 1959, made the debut in 1970. Maybe the biggest international hit is "7 seconds" with Neneh Cherry in 1994 and this song is as good today as it was back then.
Youssou has served as minister of Tourism and leisure for Senegal in 2012 and changed the post for presidents adviser in 2013. To tell about him is quite difficult in few lines, but I try to do my best in nutshell :)

Youssou became very soon the active and powerful icon for human rights matters to mention something and he was often seen doing or singing for Amnesty International and Unicef. He is doing amazingly for the benefits of Africa in various committees, that to mention everything this post would turn to be a long list.

Youssou has received many awards and the latest is the Polar price worth 150.000 €. He has released 29 albums + collections. He has acted in few films and wrote even an opera back in 1993, which was performed in Paris actually.

His new album "souvenirs" is just published and here is the video for you
