Bosco Baya, born 1989, and he debuted in 2005. He raised up in coastal region of Kenya by her mother, whom is hotelier and designer. He is also professional baker and has worked in various hotels. This multitalented young man can deliver great music, just wait and listen :)

I did listen several of his songs from youtube and other sites and find him very talented and interesting artist in many levels. I selected the song " Rafiki wa Mpesa". where he speaks about the issue, which we all know about. Friends, that only arrive when they have the problems and forgets you when the success comes along.

I know, that South Korea has been shown in this blog quite often, but it´s also clear nr1 in popularity and 2nd biggest reader :)

This was released today and I wonder, if this could be the new sensation which will take the whole world by storm? Yes it has quite an catchy melody, yes it has also own dance routine and yes it´s funny. All the elements that the last time made PSY with the gangnam style to take over the world.

Yes ... chicken. the song titled "Let's cock-a-doodle-doo"  is as it sounds in your mind right now, crazy europop tune which will be annoyingly be in your mind for hours
So don´t find against it and just let go and do the chicken dance :)

Croatia: Maya Žaja

Maya Žaja, born 1984, is croatian artist and makes debute with this 1st single/video "hej frajeru"- Song is written by my friend MarkoTomasović. And I would have added this song here despite the friend-connection. This song is good :)

I liked the song a lot and all the quite familiar elements, which in my opinion makes the croatian music. This quitar, this klapa (male singing group,smaller choir) and melody. It was quite surprising later to find out, that what I thought as klapa was actually done only by the composer himself and the guy whom is in charge of the arrangements. That´s even more amazing :)

Iraq & Bulgaria : Reda Al Abdallah & Cvetelina Yaneva

Reda Al Abdallah, born 1966 In Bagdad. He is singer-songwriter. Debuted 1995 and has released 4 albums.
Cvetelina Aneva, born 1989 in Plovdiv. She is singer and model. Her genre is chalga and balkan pop. She has released 3 albums and 29 videos :)


This is so typical example of chalga (music style) as it only can get, but the special spice here is mixing bulgarian with arabic. I like it both music and the visuals :)

Mozambique : Anita Macuácua

I find this song both catchy and the dance quite inviting. That´s been my birthday zumba  and calories will burn  :)  Bt honestly Anita has the voice, the talent and I love it. The rhythm is simply amazing don´t you agree?

What do I think of this?
Title was bit not my cup of tea, but the song is very superb popsong. Very catchy rhythm and will most likely become quite an hit in Tirana´s discotheques. " I´m the f.. freak" is repeated in text and that is what most of you will maybe also think or will you?  Don´t judge directly and just give it a go and you notice, that after all this is quite amazing song.

There isn´t many stars that I would automatically know from Vietnam, as I am more familiar with their wonderful cuisine. But internet is quite cool place as you can learn every day. That´s what I am trying also to do in this blog... music sounds quite the same and it sure doesn´t matter as music is own universal language. Do you agree? Let´s debate, if you are up to it :)

Dong Nhi, born 1988 Hong Ngoc Mai, is an artist and lyricist. Debuted in 2008 and has released 3 albums and 16 singles. She has even been in 3 movies. She is one of the vietnamese most loved stars.

Ong Cao Thang   ... is total mystery. If anyone of you know a thing ... pls contact, so we can update this.
Vietnamese musicsites tell only that he is HOT star right now. Well. I like to know more :)

I find the song amazing and the strong vocals simply ... especially Ong´s voice sound amazing. Dong Nhi I had heard before and I knew how superb it is :) This song starts so beautifully and the melody grows from 1st second to the last. This rnb beat suits this.

South Korea: Hong Dae Kwang

It´s been quite interesting to see what interest you. At first I hoped, that you would listen all of the songs I choose as it for sure takes it´s time for selecting these here. But perhaps you´ll surprise me and check what´s been added and listen thru these :)

South Korea is dominating the top 5 list and it was clear that I choose 5th song from there :)

Hong Dae Kwang, born 1985, has released 3 albums. He took part in Superstar K4 and came 4th.

I find his voice amazing and from various forums others have said that it´s sexy too. Song is great popsong and I love kpop like this with this tempo and developing melody which then offers the visual pleasure in video. Love love it :)

UK: The Hoosiers

While listening to the indie-songs few days ago I did discover even this very interesting pop-rockband.
You know that they come from UK,well this group has even one swedish member on it :)

I fell for their sound, which was so fresh despite it reminded me of the great popgroups from 80´s.  Then I was young and handsome, now just young :) And this was the daily humour dose in this blog :) Well as I turn tomorrow once again older I must have the humour. Just imagine what the humour will be like next year, when it´s 50. Well - well :)

The Hoosiers have released 3 studioalbums and I am very interested of their music. Their sound is something which should open every door easily. Song is cleverly written and using the right amount of effects covering everything with perfect vocals. Yes indeed The hoosiers is what we need. I think one of the big positive´s is by being an indiepopgroup, that then music easier stays fresh as it allows the freedom of creating music as the band wishes and not what producer might want group to be. Now we all whom like them can do our part in this pr and ask for their music from our radios... are you in?

Sweden; Kent

Kent is maybe the biggest rockband in Sweden. They have been practically dominating charts in Nordic countries since 1990. They have released 15 albums.
Band is touring a lot in Nordic countries. Each new release will be rising to the top of the charts and so did happen also this time with the song "La belle epoque", which is 2nd in swedish charts right now being also the highest new entry in top100 list.

Now there is a fuzz over the song and mainly on the lyrics, which are not the slightest typical Kent. That has caused frustration among some fans, whom doesn´t want to believe and some whom refuse to listen this. Then there is others whom find the lyrics bit offensive.

 I think that Kent has the point thus Kent uses the bit provocative way to get the message out. Things they point out in text ain´t after all that strange, but quite so there is just a few whom will understand it directly. Musically speaking I think that this is one of the best Kent songs ever, lyrics I would have written once more again and make it perhaps few lines especially.

Finland : Järjestyshäiriö

Järjestyshäiriö is pop-rock band from Jyväskylä. They debuted 1997 and have released so far 3 albums and new material is going to be released during this year.

I like their sound a lot, which is excellent in my opinion. Song is well written and everything is simply awesome. This video was released today and I haven´t been able to quit playing it again and again.

Denmark: Ida

Ida Østergaard Madsen, born 1994, better known as Ida.

She won the 5th season´s X-factor in 2012 and star was born. 

She has released 1 album.

and Oh how I like it :) This is how pop can be still mainstream and still pretty unique. She has the voice, the talent and it seems also the great team behind her. Thumbs up and enjoy her video :)

Ukraine : Krugers

During the summer 2013 the guys decided to give this a try. Few months later the russian Mumiy Troll group asked them for their tour. Later guys started to write songs for their forthcoming album. Two songs have been released from that "I´m maniac" and the one I chose for you "I don´t want the love"

This song is amazing one both visually and musically. So melodic and in this there is something that you want to listen it again and see the story once more. Once is not enough though :) Love it :)

Russia: Balagan Limited

Italy : Veronica De Simone

Italy hasn´t been that often presented in my blog and I wonder why. I like the language and music :)

Veronica de Simone, born 1990, took at first part in Voice of Italy 2012 and this year with this selected song in 64th San Remo festival.
She has released the 1st album and couple of singles.

I find no words as it´s so perfect. Veronica has the voice like an angel and the song has such developing melody, which I adore. Yes I like it and I am sure you will too :)
Unfortunately I couldn´t find much information from the internet as her homepage is "under preparation" and when it´s up I will update this post :)

South Africa : Naima Kay

Naima Kay *** information asked from South Africa and when it arrives I will update this introduction.

Naima Kay released an afro-pop album "umsebenzi", which is presenting this soulful wonderful artist with very beautiful voice. I selected for this blog video "lelilanga", which I find amazing popsong where melody captures and I could listen this on and on again. Song is interesting as you will notice, bit fusion of various styles and that´s maybe the key for success :)

Slovenia : Magnifico

This time I selected from Slovenia something totally else. When I heard the song I didn´t know what to think and after I saw this .. oh well I could think even less. All what it made was a big big smile :)

Magnifico aka Robert Pešut , born in 1965 in Ljubljana. He debuted 1962 and has been very active in musiclife releasing  over 11 albums. ( Information changes from site to site, so it must be more than 11).
Eurovision fans might not remember, that Robert wrote the Slovenian eurovision entry "samo ljubezen" for Sestre 2002 13th place :)

Netherlands : Sandra van Nieuwland

Sandra was born in Delft in 1977. Delft is wonderful city and known from their blue porcelain :) Just think do I have it at home :)
Sandra took part in Voice of Holland and didn´t win, but oh my I think she got far better reward. Her singles were on nr 1 and nr 2 and no other dutch artist has done the same.
She has released 2 albums and  I selected for you "banging on the doors of love" as the video was released 2 weeks ago.

I find the song very interesting poptune and her voice bit mysterious ... in other words I love the colour of her voice and the melodyline of this song :)

Spain: Anabel Conde

It´s taken amazingly long time before Anabel Conde returned to studios. I have personally waited almost an decade for this .... still I am bit wondering howcome Europe couldn´t let her win with the superb song "vuelve conmigo". She came 2nd and it´s still Spain´s best placing since their victory 1969.

Anabel Conde, born 1975 in Fuengirola. After the Eurovision came surprisingly problems with the recording company as the recordcompany was shut down and Anabel was forced to have a break. I as a fan of hers was sad over that as she had million dollars possibility for an superb career internationally and then it just didn´t happen. So sad.

Luckily she was taking part later in Eurovision as backing singer 2005 ( Andorra) and took part in Spanish finals 2010 "ni colores, ni fronteras" placing 4th  and tried even to Poland. Belarus: Polina Smolova

Polina Smolova, born 1990 Polina Polina Petrovna, is quite well known to eurovisionfans as she has represented Belarus 2006 in Athens and as she has taken part in national selection both in Belarus and Russia.

ukraine: Via Gra

Via Gra is once again dominating the charts. Now with new members they are ready to do it again

Anyway I am glad over the group as I have missed them. I remember their break-thru hit "popetka nr5 / try the number 5" which was absolutely smashing. This hit song is written by the georgian Meladze and that can be heard. No wonder it is so calculatively written and so catchy. I have adored his music ... just wait, I will write about him soon too.

Via Gra has had many faces, which could mean either time or persons and both correct. That´s typical matter with popgroups. Via Gra has 13 years of career and Via Gra has always been number 1 group. Now when georgian Konstantin Meladze is taking care of the group and when they own the rights for the name Via Gra (patent) this quarantees even clearer future and success.

Australia: The trouble with Templeton

Just a big surprise for me was, that I had not added anything from Australia. How on earth this is possible, oh well...

I have been the past two days listening various indiebands around the world and one simply took me by surprise. As I had not heard anything like it before, melodic yes, different oh yeah and ambient that too. Simply this works amazingly. I love it and the sound worked like a glue ... I had to just press "play it again" :)

The Trouble with Templeton is clearly a cool name for any band. This band is formed around 23yo Thomas Calder. Band has 5 members and comes from Brisbane,Australia. They have been quite often in US and tried to put their feet between the doors and hard work brings in the fruits. It would be cool to hear about the name of the group.. where it came from?

I have selected for you the video"soldiers" which has in my opinion amazing melody,interesting sound and yeah I like the voice of Thomas a lot. It seems I have a new fave band :)

And while staying in their website I found an another cool video "I wrote a novel" and this is as perfect video can get. It is entertaining and yeah you want to see it again and again as each time you will see some more used details. Clever guys and great music :)

Morocco: Samira Said

Superstar from Morocco is finally back.
It took almost 6 months to get the video and it was worth the wait :)

Samira Said, born 1962 in Rabat Samira Bensaid. She debuted at the age of 9, but professionally since 1975. She have recorded 37 albums, eps. She was the one and so far only artist from Morocco in Eurovision Song Contest at 1980 with Bitakkat hob ( the message of love). I am still so sorry for Europe´s bad taste as she and Morocco deserved far more votes.

She has been gaining success all over the arabworld as music is universal and music does connect people like I use to say. Critics aren´t always pleased to modernized tunes, but on the other hand world is changing and so should each artist do just like Samira does and maintains and grows her fanbase all the time.

My taste in music is as wide as it only can get and you have seen it, if you have clicked all the selected videos and if not do it and find some great artists and songs :)

I like it a lot and her voice,melody and everything speaks for itself. Less is more :)

Austria: Allessa

Allessa, born 1979 in Graz Elke Kaufmann,  debuted in 1998 in girlgroup C-bra. Released apparently 2 albums. She has website, but unfortunately that isn´t one bit informative nor any other site on the internet. Every artist needs the website and honestly I was nearly skipping this post as I was annoyed for the lack of information. Every artist needs to have the information as that´s what media needs and yes this blog is also part of that world. So work on the website!

Song is good poptune bit rock flavour and still remaining in schlagerworld. Pretty tasty song and only because of that it exists in this blog. Lüg nochmal/lie again

Finland : Janna

Janna-Mari Hurmerinta, born 1981 is finnish artist, songwriter and pianist. She is the daughter of famous finnish artists Maarit & Sami Hurmerinta. She has released 2 albums in english and later this year 3rd album in finnish will be released.
Sure I could and should mention, that her 1st album was released by japanese record company in 6 countries and austrian recordcompany released it in various european countries. So actually some of you might recognise her.

She has had lately success with two single/video releases " sä et ole hullu / you´re not crazy" and "läpinäkyvää /transparent".

Japan : Ayami Muto

Ayami Muto, born 1996, released debut album just recently. On the top of this post you can hear short clips from her EP. Yes EP, as in Japan music is released in many formats and her songs in one CD album with extras, 2 EP:s so in one way clients have more choices :)

She debuted 2008 and has been with two idolgroups before the solocareer. As a child she was a model, so did I mention everything, nope,as it´s amazing how much she has already managed to do:)

USA: Train

Train is an popgroup from San Francisco. Debuted 1994 and continued till 2006. Comeback 2009. Released 6 albums. They have 3 grammy awards and several other awards.

I think their music sounds very fresh and interesting as they have own sound, which is very important to have. Also I like their humour, but that´s an another thing :)

When I started in this project I thought how I would start blogging only about the songs, which aren´t going to dominate the charts everywhere, but never say never.

Lily Allen, born 1985 in London, is amazing unique artist. She understood wisely, that in this business you must be more than talented as people demand more and are hungry for even more all the time. Lily won´t disappoint anyone. She has own style and some may dislike it, bt nobody is perfect. Lily offers great vocals,songs,videos and she´s actively updating her facebook page - so yes Lily is perfect :)

The new single " airballoon" is facinating one. Song is one of the best popsongs I have heard this year and video so visual, that I am sure you will also watch it several times over and over again. Tumbs up for Lily ...

I have liked her I think her whole career and have her albums, except the latest one. I find the song very lovely and I like especially the melody,rhythm and how even this turns out to be quite surprising song :)

I must confess, that I wasn´t going to look for countrymusic this time, but oh my here we go again :)

Keith Urban, born 1967 in New Zealand. Family moved to Australia when he was 2 and released there 4 singles before moving to USA 1992. Currently he can be seen from American Idol and he is awesome judge there. Made debut in 1990 Australia and 1999 in US. Miranda Leigh Lambert, born 1983 and made the debut 2001. She has released 6 albums and done also the 1st acting roles too. In my eyes she has amazing voice,musical talent and no wonder she has won lots of awards. We haven´t seen nothing yet :)  She is married to an another countrystar Blake Shelton. It´s true, that I quite rarely pay any interest for cover versions of anything.. but never say never :) Vincent Niclo have given something new, hmm I would call it like "soul" to these. His tenor voice brings them the passion it deserves and oh my even this time eye wasn´t dry ... world´s greatest mother " maman la plus belle du monde is simply beautiful piece of art.

Ireland: Walking on cars

For me Ireland and Irish music was quite a lot what Eurovision Song Contest did annually bring. Later my interest for celtic music took over and the knowledge got wider. Lately I must say, that I know almost nothing from Irish musiclife nowadays, so sorry.

I was however looking the charts and there was some interesting acts, thus most of them from UK or US, but then by accident I saw this :

Walking on Cars  attracted at first as the name was unique for a band, so as the keep on saying about curiosity :)

Walking on Cars is rather new group, which took it´s first steps 2010. They told an facinating story about how it started by renting old house without tv,phones nor anything modern and just focused on music. In my opinion that was wise and it shows. Band is unique and has very universal sound and should break thru internationally. They have released few singles in itunes, which have rised to national nr1 spot.

I find this song pretty interesting popsong.

Ya mohra was released at end of last year. Song is in my opinion great mix of traditional sounds and modern pop.

For me she was totally new discovery and oh my how great songs she has and what a voice.

Benin : Zeynab

It seems, that african music is what interests you most. That could be seen only from the statistics and the top 5 most read stories are about Africa. So today I will continue touring African continent, from south to north,east to west. So many countries and so many languages and musicstyles and one thing in common - difficult to find a thing to write about the artists.

Zeynab was born in Ivory Coast, but after moving to Benin she started gaining success in music. Now she is seen one of the great Divas of music in Benin. She has received several awards and released 4 albums that I know of.

I selected the song " le monde est beau" world is beautiful, which text and message I adore especially now, when in some nations around the world the peace is gone and the ugly war is there instead. If only we all would see how similar we all are and how violence is never the answer. World is full of beauty, isn´t it so?

Democratic Republic of Congo : Makoma

DR Congo has been in our news during the past years.
Now for sure something very awesome.
Very catchy popsong yo wuti and I fell for the melody and the amazing vocals. This is simply good pop.

Makoma debuted in 1993 and this group has 6 siblins. They have released 7 albums and been on tour in 20 countries.

Suriname is one of the smallest countries in south america. There is lots to be shown and we start with Kayente.

I find the song cool and the rhythm once again tempting and it´s hard to stay still. That may be the results of holiday in Caribbean almost 20 years ago :) I could close my eyes and feel the refreshing wind coming from the sea and from the bar band is playing and some are doing the limbo. Yeah, music can do wonders. I haven´t thought about that holiday in decades and now suddenly ...

Albania: Anxhela Peristeri

From Balkan I haven´t yet taken you to Kosovo nor Albania. One of the reasons has been, that it has been quite difficult to find enough information and I haven´t yet allowed myself to add only the video without anything else :) Trying to keep the standards... but what you might say about this chosen song?

this is oldfashioned,sure, but on the other hand nostalgia is what interests us all from time to time. I find it refreshing,interesting and totally something that you should see,hear and enjoy.

Croatia: Elita

I know, I know. I didn´t plan to cover Croatia so soon again, but I couldn´t help it. This song was released in february and for my slavic soul it was again something worth sharing :)

Elita group is doing pop,rock,folk music. Group has been together since 2009, but now it´s time for the very 1st single Ružice, Ružo.

I find this song quite refreshing and something, what I wouldn´t expect to hear from Croatia. Still this is interesting and good. I also liked the tiny part, where parts of an very well known popsong has been lended. Did you notice?

South Africa : Lloyd Cele

When South Africa is mentioned can we all mention several things from Apartheid, Mandela, wineindustry and music. I do recall from 80´s Clout or Coleske which are just 2 examples for universal hits. Lately it has been silent on that front. Maybe soon ...

Lloyd Cele is one of my favourites from South Africa. Lloyd Cele, born 1982 outside of wedlock and raising up during Apartheid-era wasn´t the easiest road to take. He took part in Idols South Africa and came 2nd 2010. Won award for the best popalbum 2012.
I find his music very good. I like his strong voice and the song I do like a lot and not only due of the language. I would like to know what he is singing about, but this is still awesome song. What surprises me is, that it seems very few hits on youtube for some reasons..

Malawi: Armstrong

Today as you have seen by now it seems to be more or less African day with few exceptions :)

Malawi is for me personally been known from stamps. Yes I do collect these too. That has been one way to discover different cultures. And stamps are reflecting the country in so many ways. Some nations create very unique and beautiful stamps just as music.

Malawi has many great artists whom I like to follow. One of them is Armstrong.
Sopani Armstrong Kalua, born 1991, started as a dancer and won award for it. Then switched for rap and now R&B. Latest news that came is following that he wants to be called now as Onesimus, which is his new artistname.

 

This song "sinditha kumvetsa" is very catchy and the rhythm is facinating.

Lebanon : Carole Samaha

Lebanon has interested me for many reasons. I have had penpal once upon a time and have had marvellous meals in lebanese restaurant plus the music is so powerful. Well some of you might find it different, but that is part of life. As we shouldn´t discuss about the tastes or should we :)

I find Carole awesome artist and so far I haven´t heard one weak song from her. I like her voice and practically to put it simple - she is amazing. Uganda: Juliana Kanyomozi

Uganda is an another very big factor in african music scene. There is quite an industry and I must give them credit for having quite good net delivering the music. Only wish is to also get information easier about the artists as that interests me as much as the songs :)

Now I selected for you Juliana Kanyomozi, born 1980 in Kampala. She is musician,actress and entertainer. Her wikipedia-page tells also an interesting fact for other royalists, that she is the cousin of King Oyo from the Kingdom of Toro. Juliana debuted 1998 and have received several awards.
One of the latest came for the best female afrobeat song " Eddiba"  and that´s included here :)

I find the song interesting, rhythm very tempting and the dance inviting to dance along :)

USA: Cash Cash

I have tried to choose artists from US, that hasn´t yet dominated the charts in Europe. I am sure, that this group will be really climbing on each charts as the sound is fresh and awesome as it´s used to say.
However I wouldn´t mind of getting local correspondent to get even faster new sounds,hits and faces :)

Cash Cash is an electronicpop band from New Jersey. They debuted 2008 ( which was news to me) released 3 albums, 3 EP:s and 10 singles, some songs not taken from albums. They have done remixes for several very succesful artists from Bruno Mars to Lady Gaga if mentioning just two.

In my opinion Cash Cash has lots to offer and they have the beat of today. And it´s always good to focus on quality like they do and not produce song after song with less quality. I like the way these guys do it. I am maybe not the target group say statistics, but I have always wanted to be different. I love it and I have to look the shops for the album.

Turkmenistan : Mähri Pirguliýewa

On the way from Sakha we make a stop in Turkmenistan in centralasia.

Turkmenistan got independence in 1991, just like so many states after Sovjet Union collapsed.
Tourism is at babysteps, but is growing.

Musiclife is active, but the information is very difficult to get. One of the big artists is Mähri Pirguliýewa, born 1988 and she debuted 2007  (also especially in youtube myahri). Information as said is limited and nothing what I could have used here, unfortunately.

This is anyway "aýterek-günterek" very interesting popsong with ethnic elements at the end.

Republic of Sakha : Kyunney

Russia is federation of states. Despite the current situation - politically speaking - I will continue, but via these states.
Eurasian country, Sakha republic (Yakutia) is 1/5 of Russia, but it is amazingly well endowed with everything gas,diamond,gold etc. 

This is the official video of Yakutia/Sakha Republic. I  have also received an wish, that I should also tell more of the regions/countries etc. which is taken on the list of wishes. Still main purpose in this blog is music and so it will be, but on the side maybe this touristical aspect could be thought in special editions perhaps.

Recently I was discovering quite interesting young talent, Carrie Haber.

Back in Hungary. I could not choose an older clip this time. Older, well from 2012. Now most of you know, that dance interests me almost as much as music does. In this video you get it all. Talented artist with superb voice, amazing dance act and melody, that is so catchy .. oh my :)
