Belarus: I.O.W.A. & Sweden: Elvira Fisk

It´s been quite rare to hear music from Belarus, if we don´t mention the national finals for Eurovision. But believe me there is lots to be discovered and slowly I will do this :)

I.O.W.A. ( Idiots out wandering around) started 2009 making music. Leadsinger Ekaterina  had roles in musicals too, but back to this song. Ischu muzha is telling an quite common story for singles, everyone else is married and going to dinner,movies and how I could fall asleep for the winter and wakeup when birds starts to sing as now I am just looking out for a husband. Quite quick and free translation, so don´t get angry for that. I personally adore Ekaterina´s voice and the melody works for me. This is so catchy song aswell and was therefor qualifield for the selection of this blog :)  Group is living and working now from  St.Petersburg, Russia.  

           

Sweden is more than Abba. Sweden produces so much music, that it´s hard to even realise. Swedish touch can be found almost everywhere. Some like it and some dislikes it, especially in Eurovision Song Contest, but that´s a matter of national pride I think. Anyway... I got to know this talented new artist from the Svensktoppen contest and this happy positive song is what suits perfectly to this blog. Next time something totally else, that´s a promise :) Elvira Frisk,born 1996 Västerås, is now living in Stockholm and studying music. I am sure we will hear a lot more from her
